Lent Book Study: The Color of Compromise
Sunday, February 21, 2021 - 7:00pm to Sunday, March 28, 2021 - 8:30pm

As part of the Ohio River Valley District's continuing commitment to anti-racism, we'd like to invite you to a 6-week Lent book study reading and discussing The Color of Compromise: The Truth about the American Church's Complicity in Racism by Jemar Tisby. The study will be done via Zoom so all across the conference are invited to take part. Meetings will be guided by Rev. Vicki Robinson from Church of the Saviour UMC Cincinnati along with additional facilitators who will lead smaller groups in Zoom break out rooms.

Discussions will be on Sunday evenings from 7-8:30pm starting February 21 and will continue through March 28.

Information about the book from
The Color of Compromise is both enlightening and compelling, telling a history we either ignore or just don’t know. Equal parts painful and inspirational, it details how the American church has helped create and maintain racist ideas and practices. You will be guided in thinking through concrete solutions for improved race relations and a racially inclusive church.

Please register here. Once you have signed up, purchase the book at your favorite book store, and read the first 2 chapters before the first gathering on February 21.
 Purchase from Amazon or Cokesbury.

“This is a must-read for all Christians who have hopes of seeing reconciliation”—Latasha Morrison, founder & president, Be the Bridge.
