The ORV Mission Foundation exists thanks to the faithful stewardship and gifts of
individuals from our predecessor organizations. Over the years many saints have
placed gifts in trust to continue ministries beyond their time on earth for which
they had a passion. Some of these gifts were given with restrictions regarding use
and others were unrestricted. These gifts have been carefully invested so that the
earnings are able to fund continued ministry. In addition to the earnings on the
investments, annual apportionment giving from the churches in the district help
to further the district’s ability to extend mission and ministry in new and emerging
ways; to revitalize congregations; to grow congregations to fulfill the Great Commission,
and to help churches live into the vision that God has given them. The Mission Foundation
may be able to help if your church or agency is in need of resource assistance for
a new or continuing ministry.
2010 funding applications are available by clicking the appropriate link and opening/saving
the Word document(s.) You’ll want to be certain to open and read the cover letter
so that you have a better understanding of the grant application and approval process.
The District Strategy Committee has developed other documents that are integral
in the application process. Please be sure to refer to the timeline so that your
application meets all deadlines. The checklist is another document you need to reference.
By following the checklist you will ensure that your application is complete. Other
tools that will help you in preparing your funding request are the Criteria for
Awarding Grants, Grant Requirements and the Sample Grant Request. Also available
for your use is a document with the descriptions of the 10 Branches.
Questions relating to the grant application process may be directed to Rev. Jocelyn
M. Roper, Ohio River Valley District Assistant to the District Superintendent, at
mailto:jroper@wocumc.org.
