The leadership of the Ohio River Valley District understands that often youth make decisions for Christ when they participate in mission trips or spiritual life retreats. Experiences in mission and service connect these young people to those who they may not otherwise encounter, and allows them to be the hands and feet of Christ in the world. Spiritual life retreats help them acknowledge the presence of God beginning to take root and become active in their lives. The importance of these experiences in the lives of youth and their leaders is immense. To encourage and support Kingdom building through these types of events, the ORV District Strategy Committee has set aside funds for support of up to 10 youth mission trips or spiritual retreats. The maximum grant for any local church youth group is $1,000. 

Factors considered in awarding grants include: missional/spiritual focus of the trip, the incorporation of experience and the youth into the overall life of the local church. All applications must be complete and must indicate why the funds are necessary.
